Bonnie Dowd

Mary Cassat's painting "The Child's Bath" serves as both the inspiration for, and the fifth panel of, this two-page comic. Cassat worked in 1890s America, with the Civil War in recent memory; this informed the setting of the comic, but it could easily be set anywhere in the pre-Industrial western world, and refer to anything from the Civil War to the Crimea.

Artistically, I experimented with layout, pespective, and pacing. The final panel has an excellent sense of all three.
